hey, all the lovely people who've stumbled across the site! if you want to know what the site is about, the first place to look at is in here! we've written up all the mandatory stuff as short and sweetly as we can, so take a few minutes to read through them. have fun!

any thing we deem important that you know about is posted here, such as site updates and activity checks. so please check in regularly in case you miss anything important - even though we'd be posting the most recent announcements at the top of every board for your convenience.

if you want your house to win the house cup, then model behaviour is a must - in this board, there's a thread for prefects and teachers to add and subtract house points, and also other ways to earn points, so check it out if you want to bring your house glory.

so you've got a few things you'd like to clear up? or a few suggestions on what could possibly make the board better? well, post here to let us know, and we admins will respond to you as soon as we can.

are you updated on the site rules and ready to join us? well, this here's the next step - simply fill out the application form so that we have a profile of your character. come on, don't be shy - be proud on how much you can say about your character. please wait for an admin to approve of you before posting.

accepted applications will be moved here into the appropriate member groups by the admins, so that you can look through them when you wish. it's like the accepted application heaven - however, if your character has been deemed inactive, the application will be moved further down into the archives.

in want of a character? well, this is the place to request one. guest friendly so anyone can browse through and pick up a character they're interested in - simple, really.

here you can find everything your character needs immediately after acceptance - face claims, quidditch sign ups, prefect sign ups, and of course, open threads too!

so you've been accepted? perfect! this is the place for you to hook up your character with everyone else, plot away!

every character's got a few personal items that they keep close - items such as journals, notebooks, and albums, perhaps? this is the place to expand your character by delving deeper into their minds and hearts - of course, make sure to keep the personals somewhere secure, otherwise, anyone could read them.

dear santa, for christmas i'd love the biggest helping of bertie blott's every flavour beans and a hippogriff. you know what this place is for - send an owl to family or friends, or just pass a note anonymously to someone you wish to annoy.

it's time to dig out those black lacey knickers, throw on the red and white dress, and grab that someone special. that's right, valetines day is here, and to celebrate, hogwarts is having a school-wide dance! singles be warned, there will be high levels of puke-worthy romance all night, but that's okay, you can eat as much heart-shaped food as you can! or maybe even find romance yourself! so find something red or white to wear, and head on down to the ball room for a night of love and lust!

the dungeons is never a pleasant place to be - dark, dusty corridors crisscrossing and leading off deeper under the castle, where lurking rodents have made their homes in empty classrooms. the slytherin common room can be found down here, as well as the kitchens, celler, and hufflepuff common room.

of course, you enter the castle from the great doors on the ground floor, through which you step into the entrance hall. it has a great spiral staircase that leads to upper floors, and also the great hall, where the students gather for assemblies and meals. the staff room is situated on the ground floor also.

for all those students taking muggle studies, defence against the dark arts, and history of magic, well, your classes are on this floor, so be sure you're on time to them.

be careful not to upset the ghost that resides in moaning myrtle's bathroom, people. apart from the haunted bathroom, the transfiguration classroom and the detention hall is located on the second floor.

the third floor includes the hospital wing - where you need to be at if you're injured, so madam pomfrey can tend to you - as well as the charms classroom.

maybe you need a good book so you can research more about those rather nasty mushrooms your potions teacher asked you to write about - well, the library is here, so why don't you drop by?

the fifth floor is mostly deserted, but it hosts the prefects bathroom, and quite a few empty classrooms.

if you're one of the few that takes ancient runes, your classroom is right here.

this floor might as well host all the rooms you need, for it has the room of requirement. it's also where you'll find your divination classroom and gryffindor common room.

true, its exhausting to climb up the towers, but it's what you have to do to get to the ravenclaw common room, owlery, astronomy tower, or the headmaster's office, as the four of them are located in the four different towers of hogwarts.

the gameskeeper of hogwarts, rubeus hagrid, has been living in his hut in the grounds ever since he was expelled in his third year almost two decades ago. you're likely to find fascinating creatures he's trying to tame every time you visit.

hogwarts has several green houses full of exotic plants, some of them useful enough for madam pomfrey to make antidotes with them, the others, poisenous and better left alone.

this is the perfect place to enjoy the lush beauty of the hogwarts grounds - however, be careful not to get too close to that whomping willow!

one of the prominent features of the hogwarts grounds is the black lake, where students often go for a dip after a hot day spent in classrooms. its best to keep an eye out for the giant squid, though.

the forbidden forest hosts home to a number of magical creatures that are both dangerous and well, kind of creepy. it's not a safe place to be, you might mess up that lovely hairstyle you took hours to perfect, or worse - a limb or two. best keep away from the forest.

the annual quidditch cup is hosted in the quidditch pitch, and teams can also book the pitch for practice prior to the game. anyone with a broomstick can fly anytime the pitch is available.

hogsmeade is the only pure magical settlement in britain, and it's been around for a pretty long time. you'd love it here, because the main street branches out to all sorts of wonderful places - honeydukes, where you can find all the candies you need to get your mind off a bad break up, or the hog's head, where all sorts of odd creatures turn up at.

be sure to speak the name right when if you're using the floor network for getting there - it's diagon alley, not diagonally.

the shady street that illegally sells dark artecrafts that you're better off not messing with, knockturn alley is full of characters you better avoid - unless of course, you're voldemort's minion, in which case, you perfectly belong here.

fill out a house form to get your place - here is where you'll find places such as malfoy's manour, and other established wizarding homes.

the rest of the wizarding world is right here, whether it be godric's hollow or otherwise.

be careful you don't draw attention to yourself in the muggle world, as there are several laws you might break in the process. of course, keep in mind to dress like the muggles so they don't notice anything fishy.

this is the place for all you lovely members, because you're amazing and we love you so much - here you can do anything you wish, whether it be to carry out mindless chatter or play games to pass away time.
